Gillingham Town Council has seventeen members representing the following six wards within Gillingham and Milton-on-Stour

2011 Elections

At election held on the 5th May 2011 thirteen members were returned unopposed. Three seats in the Lodbourne Ward was contested by four candidates, leaving one vacancies in the Town Ward.

Standing Order number 73 states:

An election will normally be called to fill any vacancies on the Gillingham Town Council.  Co-option may only take place immediatley after the local elections or during the last six months of the four year council term.

Members will agree a way forward following their Policy & Resources Committee meeting to be held on the 16th May 2011.
